Ms. Joanna Smith
Grades: K-4

I grew up in Zumbrota, Minnesota, a small town just north of Rochester. My parents own a pig farm and my 4 older brothers, my older sister, and I enjoyed the adventures that came along with living in the country. I love being part of a big family and the add-ons that come from marriages and blessings of children.

I attended St. Croix Lutheran High School in St. Paul, MN. I was active as a sports manager, member of the choirs, and various leadership opportunities. I graduated from Martin Luther College in New Ulm, MN in May 2009 with an Elementary Education degree and an emphasis in Social Studies. During college I served actively behind-the-scenes of many theater productions and as a resident assistant. I student taught grades 2-4 in Beverly Hills, FL.

In my spare time, I enjoy scrapbooking, crocheting, reading, photography, being outdoors, music, and spending time with family and friends.

As a teacher at St. Paul’s, it is my goal, first and foremost, to teach the Word of God to His young flock and secondly to teach the subjects of math, reading, language, science, social studies, art and music. I also direct the student hand bell choir.
