Looking for a preschool? We strive to prepare children for school through active play and social interaction. Through a study of school basics, St. Paul’s hopes to prepare each child to continue their educational journey.
Our school day is 8:30-11:30am. Before school childcare is available starting at 7:00am. After school childcare is available until 5:30pm.
We offer three different programs to meet the needs of our early childhood students:
- Preschool, for children age 3 by September 1 of the school year, is held on Tuesday and Thursday Mornings. (This option is also available for 4-year-olds if desired by the parents)
- PreKindergarten, for children age 4 by September 1 of the school year, is held Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings.
- A second PreKindergarten option, for children age 4 by September 1 of the school, is held Monday-Friday.
These programs have been established for the purpose of providing the children with an opportunity to prepare for Kindergarten.
Social skills are developed as the children play together. Each day begins with a Bible lesson with applications of the story to pertain to our daily lives. The day continues with a study of the letters of the alphabet. Puppets are used to introduce the letters with their sounds and the children learn a story and song with each letter. Following the class, the numerals are studies, along with other math related activities such as shapes, patterning and graphing. Music and movement activities are a part of each school day as well as show and tell. Seasonal social studies and science units are incorporated in the curriculum each week. Hands-on interaction is incorporated in each school day.
Field trips are another important avenue of learning and we take many throughout the year. Past field trips have been to the zoo, museums, the theater, and other local centers.
